Week 2: Recipe 2 of the Green Shake Challenge

I returned from a scuba trip to Cozumel this past week and caught a cab from Midway airport. While my boyfriend and I made small talk with the cab driver I noticed in his cup holder was a water bottle with a green liquid in it. I got so excited I blurted out "Sir, is that a green smoothie in your water bottle!" I could see his surprise in the rear view mirror as he laughed and started explaining how his wife makes him one everyday to try to make him healthy. " She just blends up some vegetables and I don't know whatever else she puts in these things but she insists I take one to work everyday". We encouraged him to keep it up and shared how much we love our green smoothies.

Later that day I thought how awesome it would be if all cab drivers drove around drinking green smoothies. What a perfect world that would be.

Recipe # 2: The Green Cabbie

¼ cucumber

2 celery ribs

1 cup spinach leaves

½ cup  napa cabbage leaves

½  lime peeled

¼  lemon peeled

¼ orange peeled

2 Tbsp raw sunflower seeds

½  cup water

½  cup ice cubes

Blend together and enjoy!
